The Asia Pacific Divisions of the International Congress of Pathology (APIAP) is an Assembly of the Divisions of the International Academy of Pathology (see http://www.iapcentral.ca and http://www.uscap.org) in the region. These divisions have come together because of shared educational and professional needs. The Australasian, Japanese, Korean and Hong Kong Divisions were the original founders but they were joined soon afterwards by the other divisions. The divisions hold a biennial APIAP Congress on the off year when the main Congress of the International Academy of Pathology is not meeting.

Past APIAP Congresses were held in Sydney (1995), Seoul (1999), Bangkok (2003), Beijing (2005), Singapore (2007), Kochi (2009).

The Seventh APIAP Congress will be held in Taipei (http://www.apiap2011.com) and hosted by the Taiwanese Division. The Congress President is Dr Shih-Ming Jung (shihm.jung@gmail.com) and the Scientific Programme Chairpersons are Professor Ih-jen Su (suihjen@nrhi.org.tw) and Dr Shui-feng Wong (sfhuang@nhri.org.tw).

The Eighth APIAP Congress will be held in Seoul in 2013 and the Ninth APIAP Congress will be held in 2015.
